On 9 November 2010, the European Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of the Merger Regulation by which the undertakings Barclays Bank PLC ("Barclays", United Kingdom) and Crédit Foncier de France ("CFF", France), belonging to the BPCE Group (France) acquire within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the Merger Regulation joint control of the undertaking Hexagone France 3 SARL ("Hexagone", France) by way of purchase of shares. 2. The business activities of the undertakings concerned are: - for Barclays : global financial services provider active in retail and commercial banking, investment banking, wealth management and investment management services; - for CFF : mortgage specialist affiliated with the BPCE Group, a banking network in France active in investment banking, retail and commercial banking, insurance and real estate services; - for Hexagone : special purpose vehicle owning two buildings for commercial use in the French department of Seine Saint-Denis (93), in the Ile-de-France region.

3. For the reasons set out in the Notice on a simplified procedure, the European Commission has decided not to oppose the notified operation and to declare it compatible with the internal market and with the EEA Agreement. This decision is adopted in application of Article 6(1)(b) of the Merger Regulation.
