86/458/EEC: Council Recommendation of 15 September 1986 concerning nationals of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg who hold a diploma in medicine conferred by a third State Official Journal L 267 , 19/09/1986 P. 0030 - 0030 ***** COUNCIL RECOMMENDATION of 15 September 1986 concerning nationals of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg who hold a diploma in medicine conferred by a third State (86/458/EEC) THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES, Noting that Council Directive 86/457/EEC of 15 September 1986 on specific training in general medical practice (1), refers only to diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications conferred in a Member State;

Anxious, however, to take account of the special position of nationals of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, who, since there is no specific training in general medical practice in the Grand Duchy itself, have studied in a third State; HEREBY RECOMMENDS that the Governments of the other Member States allow nationals of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg who hold a diploma awarded in a third State, on completion of specific training in general medical practice that is recognized by the Luxembourg Ministry of Health, to take up and pursue activities as general medical practitioners within the Community.
