Non-opposition to a notified concentration (Case COMP/M.2922 — Pfizer/Pharmacia) (Text with EEA relevance) Official Journal C 110 , 08/05/2003 P. 0024 - 0024 Commission communication Review of the guidelines on national regional aid for the period after 1 January 2007 (2003/C 110/11) The Commission published the guidelines on national regional aid in March 1998(1). On the basis of the guidelines, the Commission approved the regional aid maps of the present Member States for the period from 2000 to 2006 and numerous regional aid schemes expiring at the end of that period. In addition, the Regulation on State aid for SMEs(2), and the Regulation on State aid for employment(3) follow in whole or in part the approach set out in the guidelines.
The guidelines were adopted for an unlimited period. However, point 6.4 stipulates that the Commission will review them within five years of their becoming applicable. The Commission has carried out such a review and concluded that a revision of the guidelines does not appear to be necessary. The Commission, however, decided to carry out such revision in due course in order to give the Member States and the Commission time before the end of 2006 to draw up, notify and approve the regional maps for the period after 1 January 2007.
