Article 1

The training aid of CZK 44088300 in favour of Třinecké železárny, a.s. complies with the criteria laid down in Regulation (EC) No 68/2001 and it does not constitute restructuring aid within the meaning of Protocol 2 to the 2003 Accession Treaty. The purchase of the shares of ISPAT Nová Huť held by Třinecké železárny, a.s. does not constitute State aid within the meaning of Article 87(1) of the EC Treaty.

This Decision is addressed to the Czech Republic.
