Council Decision (CFSP) 2025/1452 of 15 July 2025 extending the mandate of the European Union Special Representative for the Great Lakes region and amending Decision (CFSP) 2024/2098

1 Mr Johan BORGSTAM is hereby appointed as the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for the Great Lakes region from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2025.

2 The mandate of Mr Johan BORGSTAM as the EUSR for the Great Lakes region is extended until 31 August 2027.

3 The Council may decide to extend the mandate of the EUSR, or to terminate it earlier, on the basis of an assessment by the Political and Security Committee (PSC) and a proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy (“the High Representative”).’

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
