Council Decision (EU) 2025/1976 of 8 July 2025 on the termination of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Cameroon on forest law enforcement, governance and trade in timber and derived products to the European Union (FLEGT)

The termination of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Cameroon on forest law enforcement, governance and trade in timber and derived products to the European Union (FLEGT) (the ‘VPA’) that entered into force on 1 December 2011 is hereby approved on behalf of the Union. The VPA shall cease to apply no later than 12 months after the date of notification to the Republic of Cameroon.

The Joint Declaration of the European Union and the Republic of Cameroon concerning the non-renewal in 2025 of the VPA is hereby approved on behalf of the Union. The text of the Joint Declaration is set out in the Annex.

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
