Commission Regulation (EC) No 971/2006 of 29 June 2006 amending Regulation (EC) No 2375/2002 opening and providing for the administration of Community tariff quotas for common wheat of a quality other than high quality from third countries

‘1 A tariff quota of 2988387 tonnes of common wheat falling within code 10019099 of a quality other than high quality is hereby opened.’

‘1 The overall tariff quota shall be divided into three subquotas: subquota I (serial number 09.4123): 572000 tonnes for the United States of America, subquota II (serial number 09.4124): 38000 tonnes for Canada, subquota III (serial number 09.4125): 2378387 tonnes for other third countries.’;

‘3 Subquota III shall be divided into four quarterly tranches, each for the following periods and quantities: (a) tranche No 1: 1 January to 31 March — 594597 tonnes; (b) tranche No 2: 1 April to 30 June — 594597 tonnes; (c) tranche No 3: 1 July to 30 September — 594597 tonnes; (d) tranche No 4: 1 October to 31 December — 594597 tonnes. For 2006, tranche No 3 shall be 597991 tonnes.’

‘1 Applications for import licences shall be lodged with the competent authorities of the Member States each week no later than Monday at 13.00 (Brussels time).’;

‘3 If the combined total of the quantities granted since the start of the period and the quantities referred to in paragraph 2 exceeds the relevant subquota or tranche, the Commission shall fix, no later than the third working day following the final day for the lodging of applications, allocation coefficients to be applied to the quantities requested.’;

This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. It shall apply from 1 July 2006.
