Council Decision (EU) 2020/243 of 13 February 2020 on the position to be taken on behalf of the European Union in the thirteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the conservation of migratory species of wild animals as regards proposals from various parties to amend the Appendices to that Convention, and on the withdrawal of a reservation notified to that Convention

The position to be taken on the Union’s behalf in the thirteenth meeting of Conference of the Parties shall be the following: (a) to support the addition to Appendix I to the Convention of the following species: Tetrax tetrax, Elephas maximus indicus, Panthera onca, Ardeotis nigriceps, Houbaropsis bengalensis bengalensis, Diomedea antipodensis, Carcharhinus longimanus; (b) to support the addition to Appendix II to the Convention of the following species: Tetrax tetrax, Galeorhinus galeus, Sphyrna zygaena (global population), Panthera onca, Ovis vignei.

The Commission, on behalf of the Union, shall communicate to the Depository of the Convention the withdrawal of its reservation concerning the inclusion of Cetorhinus maximus in Appendix I to the Convention.

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
